The Bible is full of references of peoples of differing races and beliefs. In Genesis,in the account of the tower of Babel, God confused the languages so that communication was interrupted among those there. Go further back to the account of Cain and Abel, (Gen. ch 4) Gen 4:13-14
13 Cain said to the LORD, "My punishment is more than I can bear. 14 Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."
NIV
As you can see, Cain was afraid of others that would kill him. The Old Testament mentions several different races many times. Read the books of , Genesis, Exodus, Judges, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles just to name a few. It's really interesting and who knows you might learn something! I know I do everytime I re-read them.

Gen1 describes the creation of man all the races on the 6th day
(remember god has said a 1000 years is like unto 1 day and 1 day 1000 years)
Gen2 on the 7th day he rested (1000 years) after the 7th day he creates THE Adam on the 8th day (about 2000 years latter)
The text
Gen 1
27 And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. - see the THEM more than 1 assume more than 1 set
31 And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
Done on the 6th day
Gen 2
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.
The 7th day is now over
7 And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
If this on the 8th day is to be the first man what the hell happened to them created on the 6th day???? Come on use some wisdom this is THE Adam not an Adam of the 6th.

First: The Bible is not an EXACT LITERAL explanation for you. It is also a device that assists my memory along the timeline. It is filled with historically incorrect information whose truth would be able to be discerned only by accessing the actual memory of the events. For additional information and eventual Understanding, I recommend studying the OTHER SPIRITUAL LITERATURE.
Second: Before the Noah's Ark event, we manifested in Pangea (PAN-G-ALL). As both a friendly competition and a representation of the Five Elements Theory, I created the 5 races and placed them at the 4 corners and center of the continent. Over the centuries, I have guided each of the races along paths. This is the spiritual causative factor.
Third: Each race is associated with one particular grain and a geographic locale. Basing your family's diet changes it over several generations to be that race. This is the physical causative factor.

This too is explained in Genesis. Later descendants of Adam broke into tribes and spread. Then, some attempted to build the Tower at Babel. God spread them across the earth

the first answer from lasermouse is absolutely absurb. show me one passage in the Bible that says it isn't supposed to be taken literally in a scientific sense. there are hundreds of scientific facts in the Bible that were written about before science ever discovered it. for example, the books of Job and Psalms talk about the earth being a sphere. also that God hangs the earth on nothing. research back and find out when science actually found this out. it was hundreds of years after the Bible was written. if you remember correctly, hundreds of years after that was written, christopher columbus was warned that he was going to fall off the face of the earth when he went on his voyage. science was convinced that the earth was flat. for the sake of time i won't list the hundreds of other examples.
don't let someone like lasermouse just come and give his or her opinion in the form of an answer without doing the slightest bit of research.
to answer your question. science has concluded that the only differences in the race and ethnic groups is external. everything on the inside is the exact same. so we have to conclude that different skin color is simply a climatic adaptation.

God divided man when they were trying to build the tower to heaven, so he fixed it so they could not understand each other
( hence the tower of Babel )

I can't but the bible says what is impossible with man is possible with God and that is good enough for me. I believe God made them just as he preferred. I do think it would be nice if we could try loving each other for the person we are and stop looking at the racial side of things. Jesus died for you no matter what color your skin is. He loves you just as much as me and me just as much as the next person. He doesn't play favorites. God Bless You.

The Bible can't explain it, because its just a book of allegorical fiction. Science (ie: Evolution)on the other hand can, and does.
