Try Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio, for a sharp full flavored wine for a lighter body but still full flavored try a Robert Modavi Chardonnay aged in oak your wine store will be happy to help you. The first is an Italian wine the second is a California wine.

Grilled salmon goes best with pinot noir (and always has, even before Sideways - lol) Try Echelon Central Coast from California - it's got a little smoky flavor in the background that's the perfect compliment to grilled salmon, no matter what you marinated it in :)
If you REALLY prefer whites, you could try an herby sauvignon blanc, but the because salmon is an oily fish, it's going to be better complimented by the pinot and it will compliment the wine right back!
(Edit - for those of you who are saying only white wine with fish, that's intended for white and mild fish. Oily fish, like tuna and salmon are typically paired with pinot noir)

White wines are the right decision for fish, even though it extremely is a controversy of style and decision. I drink purple with each and every little thing. Does your date want white? in case you do no longer recognize i might bypass with a Chardonnay, which isn't too candy or dry. additionally, once you're identifying to purchase the wine at a liquor/wine shop and not the community beer mart ask the guy in the back of the counter. maximum solid wines would have an define of the style on a card subsequent to the bottles. no count if it extremely is a competent esatblishment somebody would be slightly bit a gourmand. solid success.

White wine for fish... A white zinfandel is the standard. Personally, I like a Johannesberg Riesling, it has a touch of sweetness but not as much as say a Gewurtzraminer, which is better as a dessert wine.

I'd suggest a chianti or a shiraz. Really brings out the flavor of the salmon.

How about a Cabernet Blanc. That should compliment the salmon nicely.

i would suggest a fruity white wine....white because the fish is lighter than mean and white wine is lighter than red....fruity because olive oil sometimes has hints of fruity-ness.
you should go to your nearest liquor store and ask for suggestions. they are always willing to help!
