If you want a way to naturally regulate her then I have the perfect solution for you...............POPCORN.................It's like magic. Everynight let her sit and eat it and watch TV. Corn on the Cob also works wonders to get her going and regulated. I never liked to medicate for constipation b/c her body will then in turn rely on it to regulate her body and thats not good. Increase Fiber is also the key to get her regulated. When you increase Fiber you have to also increase her water intake or it will bowel her up even more.
I gave you some links that I found helpful when I was desperate when my year old kept getting boweled up. SInce I started giving her popcorn as a snack she has had no problems. I also increased her Fiber intake which was really important.

This happens to my son often. I mix three different things together in his cup: one, Gerber apple prune juice (about 1/2), two, apple juice or fruit punch, and three, a teaspoon of mineral oil. This seems to help him. In addition to that I exclude bananas, cheese, milk, and yogurt from his diet. He ends up just eating apples, grapes, raisens, and pears for a meal or two. Once he is on that for 12 hours or so he is better. Make sure your daughter is well hydrated. Have her drink lots of water and juices....no milk. Also, even after things get better I would mix those three things together for her daily. This should help her from getting that way again.
Good luck with this...I know how hard it is to see your little one in pain from this. My son will be three soon. It's not easy.

My daughter has a problem with dairy, rice, pasta, and other starchy foods making her constipated. I try to give her some apple juice and it usually gets her going. It got severe enough once I gave her some Castoria (not Castor Oil!!!) it tastes nasty even though they claim its Root Beer flavor but it does the trick also.

I'm sorry, first of all, that your daughter has this problem. Binding foods are foods with very little water and fiber content, such as dry crackers, refined sugars, white flour, rice, bananas, apples, and in general foods that are just too dry. I would recommend giving her plenty of fruit, especially watery fruits. Pears and canteloupe are excellent for helping with constipation, because of their high water and fiber content. Also good are prunes and prune juice, which really help. Make sure that when you give your daughter carbs, that they're high in fiber and whole grains. White bread should be eliminated. Veggies are very good for this condition, too, because they help move everything out. Make the most out of vegetables by using the ones that are highest in fiber. Peas are great, as well as broccoli and carrots. It would probably help to steam them to make them more appealing to your child, and softer on her stomach. I know that bananas and apples are fruits, but you should only give them to her in limited amounts, as they could cause constipation. Make sure cereal has whole grain, and a good fiber content. This is one of the best things for constipation. And oatmeal is great for help with this condition, because it coats the intestine, and makes everything come out easier. Just make sure to only give one serving, as too much of it can have a reverse effect. Make sure she drinks plenty of fluids. Water is best, and she should be encouraged to drink it with every meal. Make sure she's had enough water first before other liquids. If she doesn't like the taste of the water, you can flavor it with crystal lite. Good Luck, and hopefully things will improve for your daughter.

usually the binding foods are dairy. My son is 5 and I have had problems with him all along. He hates prune juice and raisins. I have gotten him to drink the prune juice if I mix it with grape. Also a nice bowl of grapes (purple) can get him going.
Good Luck.

Many infants, toddlers have a problem with constipation, especially once they begin eating solid foods.
Didn't your pediatrician give you a list of "binding" foods?
(i.e. cheese)
I am not familiar with Lanosyl..so I can't comment on its use fullness...altho I am 99% sure it is some type of stool softener or laxative.
I would do as your pediatrician instructed, and hope for the best.
Good Luck :)

try giving your daughter some of that gerber prune juice, it has some apple juice to improve the flavor. also if your daughter will eat raisins, give her some everyday. try to get her to drink more water too. try to cut out stuff like cheese and bread from her diet.
