My son is delving into the practice, and I'd like to hear, positive or negative, what some of you out there know about it.

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) is truly wonderful. It is genuine cultivation practice of the Buddha school (not to be confused with the religion of Buddhism). I have been practicing Falun Dafa for a little over a year now and the benefits in my life have been too numerous to list here. I am a remarkably better and healthier person since I started this practice. Practitioners of Falun Dafa strive to live their lives by the universal principles of Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance). Falun Dafa consists of a series of five gentle exercises (four standing exercises and one seated meditation) as well as reading the book Zhuan Falun (Turning the Law Wheel) which helps to guide us in cultivation practice.
Falun Dafa is an ancient practice that was introduced to the public in 1992 in China, and since then it has spread to over 70 countries around the world and is practiced by over 100 million people. Sadly, since July of 1999 the evil Chinese Communist Party has persecuted practitioners of Falun Dafa in China.

Also you can read the books of Falun Dafa which are available for free online. The introductory book is called Falun Gong and the main text of Falun Dafa is called Zhuan Falun. You can download the books or view them online (for free) at this website: http://www.falundafa.org/eng/books.htm . For me, these profound books answered all the important questions that I had in my life and helped me to start practicing Falun Dafa.
Don't believe the lies spread by the evil Communist Party and repeated by the media that defame Falun Dafa. Find out for yourself the truth. You can go to their website ( http://www.falundafa.org/ ), read the books, and even contact practitioners in your area and discuss their experiences with them. Practitioners of Falun Dafa are truly the most compassionate, truthful, and tolerant people I have ever met.
