I realize that this is not an immigration question, but I would like to lighten things up a bit for a little while.

Did you ever notice that when you say to someone, "I lost my (whatever)" people ALWAYS ask you, "Where did you lose it"?

Duh, if I lost it but knew where I lost it, it wouldn't be lost.

Just one of those little ironies in life.

My favorite is "Can I ask you a question?". Um, you just did, didn't you?

That's not stupid. Stupid would be when a complete stranger asks me how I am! In such cases I don't answer, because I hate formalities and all phony idiots who couldn't care less but bother asking anyway.

Oh, and the stupidest question ever is..." how old are you" to anyone over 18. What the f%$^ do you care? It's extremely insulting to any European like me.

I really think you need to look up Bill Engvall and see his comedy routine. He's got an hour or 2 routine about "Here's Your Sign" for when people ask stupid questions or make stupid comments like that.

Oh-kaaaay then.

But you do realise that this is an immigration question place and not a where did you lose it place right?

If you want to lighten things up go where that would be appropriate.

The question that doesn't get asked is more "stupid" is what my grandma used to say, but I see what you mean. Oh, well, have a nice day (that's a statement to a perfect stranger!) lol Is that ok?

Yes, I guess it's the next thing that comes out of the persons mouth. It doesn't make sense but it's funny sometimes!

Nice one! I usually tell them that, too, unless in the case of DH and I'm pretty upset, I just bite his head off.
