Because in the blood tests all they can see is the protien markers..if they are positive or negative for cancer...a biopsy of any type tells the docs specifically what type of cancer thy are dealing with...and in bones there are several types of cancer

in a blood test, a high white blood cell count suggests the presence of some type of "infection". if a blood test comes back with a high a high wbc count, then the doctor will run more specific tests. a biopsy is normally done if a mass or abnormality if found. in other words, the doctor has been able to narrow the "infection" down.

Some blood tests can point to certain cancers (i.e. leukemia), but a bone marrow biopsy is taken to determine which type of cancer it is so the appropriate treatment can be prescribed.

Blood tests do not show most cancers, unless it's luekemia. Bone density and biopsies are the best way for more accurate results.

There may be clues in the blood that a cancer like leukemia is present but it must be confirmed by a bone marrow test to verify and also identify the particular type of leukemia it is. The treatment must be based on the particular type of leukemia for best outcome.

This is a scary question for me, I've had cancer twice. You can have symptoms like a bump on your testicles, that would mean that you might have Testicular Cancer. Doctor doesn't always see it, you have to be tested for your protein levels. If you suspect anything, make appt with Oncologist and let him know your thoughts and worries.
Guys, testicular cancer hits guys between the ages of 18 to 35. When you get out of the shower, feel each of your balls for bumps.
