Hiccups Causes
Many conditions are associated with hiccups, but none has been shown to be the cause of hiccups.
If you eat too fast, you can swallow air along with your food and end up with a case of the hiccups.
Any other practices that might irritate the diaphragm such as eating too much (especially fatty foods) or drinking too much (drunk people hiccup) can make you prone to having hiccups.
In these instances, your stomach, which sits on top of the diaphragm, is distended or stretched. Because they occur in relation to eating and drinking, hiccups are sometimes thought to be a reflex to protect you from choking.
I went through a stage like that, where I was getting the hiccups a lot. Believe it or not the one thing i did actually takes my hiccups away....so try this:
Take a sip of water than tilt your head all the way back and than swallow the water.
You can also try just the opposite, taking a sip and than bending your head forward than swallowing.
It sounds silly, but it works for me.

Just drink the water with a little large gulps until you are free from hiccups. Even my friend's daughter get hiccups if she laughs too hard.

Eat some peanut butter...believe me..it works..everytime. Drinking water sometimes makes it worse because you are ingesting more air and can cause more hiccups. Laughing can cause hiccups because you may be taking in more air..Good luck!

Stop drinking beer and drink water. I have had the same problem. Don't even try anything else. Carbonated beverages will prolong things.
