7:30 am to 2:00 pm because at least you would have the entire afternoon to take care and play and go out together with your baby. If you work 11:30 to 5, you may get to sleep in but you'll also be driving during traffic times in the evening and will spend less time with your baby. Good luck!

The 7:30 shift might sound good, however that might not be best for an infant. If you did the later shift, you could get some needed rest after the baby kept you up all night. Also, the later shift would allow you ample time to nurse the baby in the morning before you took him/her to grandma. Babies don't go to bed until later in the evening anyway, so I would pick the 11:30 to 5:00 shift.

I would say 11:30 to 5 because if I have a small infant I would be up every two hours during the night. I would want to make sure I get good rest and not rush to get to work looking like hell.
But honestly I would be an at home mom.

My daughter is 2 and a half yrs old now, but when she was born, i was a stay at home mother til she was 17 months old, when i went back to work, i worked full-time 3pm-10/11pm 5 days a week and my parents watched my daughter, i had the job for 10 months then they laid me off and now i have a different job and i work 8:30am-12/2:30pm part-time and my neighbor watches my daughter....I like working 8am-4pm shift, i have more energy to play with my daughter in the evenings, than i do in the mornings, so i dont like working 2nd or 3rd shift jobs!

I think that you should pick 11:30 to 5pm because that way the grandma doesnt have to work as hard and what i mean is taht you could get up a litte earlier to get things started like:
Bottels
fresh milk
fresh diapers
fresh everything and you get to see yourt baby b4 you leave for work and when you leave the baby could occupied with toys or something becuz you got up early to set up things!

I would pick 7;30 am to 2:00 pm... because it gives you the rest of the day to continue to work once your home.. remember being a mother your work is 24/7 not 5 1/2 hours a day..... Good luck and find time for yourself at least once a week with no work and no baby to care for.

Okay well i am not a mother and i dont know how young a "small infant" is but i would say the 730-2pm..... i would pick this because you child will probably be going to bed early cause hes young, and getting home at 2 gives you more time with him as apposed to getting home at 5 he will probably be going to be shortly after you get home...
Congrats on your child!

7:30-2pm. That way you have the rest of the day with your child. Babies take a nap in the morning so it wouldn't be a big deal if you missed that. Also when you get home after 5 you'll probably be more tired and at that time it's time to make dinner, and get the bbay ready for bedtime so you wouldn't get too much time in with him.

I love this question and the fact that there is a young mother out there who cares enough about her child to ask this question!
I pondered the same myself 20-25 years ago when I was raising my son and had to work.
I choose to work the evening shift because it allowed me to be there with my son for the most part during the day when he was awake and he would be asleep most of the evening while i was at work. This left us more time to discover the world together! My hats off to you! Good luck, dear

I think I would choose 11:30 to 5
at least in the morning i can prepare his breakfast and make his lunch then bring him to granny...
during the afternoon the baby would take a nap at grannies place so granny can rest too..
then after 5 i can pick him up and still have time to cook dinner.....
If i worked 7:30 to 2, that means i have to wake up super early to do all those things and drop him off at grannies then rush to work...during heavy traffic time..
