I keep seeing athisest post that they are moral because they want to be, kind because they choose, nice and adjusted. I keep seeing over and over how atheist see themselves as nice, good people, without God. But, yet they continue to call believers ignorant, intolerant, lazy, uneducated, stupid, and crude, and when some respond back in the like sort, they claim they are the kind ones, and its the Christians that are mean. Come on! How ignorant do you think Christians are, when we KNOW you are provoking us, trying only to look superior, when you very actions speak that you are not what you say you are! Are you not a hypocrite, and also as wrong as Christians that act that way? Dont claim to be nice, we know you arent.

Which came first : The Atheist bashing the Christian or the Christian bashing the Atheist?

You were not there when the first insult was uttered and so you have no idea who started what. Thank you so much for continuing the feud. Without your berating of Atheists and that tiny comment at the end so as to not deny Christians their rightful penance maybe we could have let the hatred and wars between the religions rest a few more moments. That is until someone else uttered your exact phrases moments later. The circle is never broken. No end and no beginning. Imagine what a world this would be if that circle was made of tolerance and love instead of hate and righteousness.

Sweetie, how many Christians have you seen posting the same hateful language toward atheists?? It happens on both sides. The truth is, there are tolerant and intolerant people. Period. That term can apply to any person of any faith or no faith at all. The difference is the atheists aren't claiming to follow the teachings of Christ while being hateful. At least they're willing to admit that they choose to be that way.

As a Christian we must all have the heart of Christ. Even our brothers and sister who do not believe and treat us ill are still people to be loved and prayed for. If any Christian enters into dialogue with an atheist, be charitable and bear all insults. Since we know that Christians are not ignorant, lazy, and delusional as they say, then why should it bother any Christian? It is not the truth and therefor has no power over us, we can still be charitable to them.
However, there is nothing wrong with being cunning and sly with them. Did you know that being an athiest already proves the existence of God? Wouldn't God have to exist in order for them to separate from Him.
God's and your beast of burden

Hmm. There are certainly numerous atheists here acting like juveniles, but overall it's the Christians causing these problems.

What makes this difficult of course is that there are well-behaved and poorly behaved people among both the atheists and the Christians, so it's easy to point to examples of bad behavior among those you disagree with, whichever side you're on.

Since Christians and religious thought so dominate our culture, most Christians aren't used to having their core beliefs challenged, and react badly when they are. Since some of the most core beliefs of Christianity - existence of god, life after death, Biblical infallacy - are false, it's like we're sitting on a tinderbox. Honesty demands that we point out the falsehood of core Christian beliefs, but Christians so often react to that honesty as though it were deliberate instigation.

Add to that the fact that when it comes to defending those beliefs, so many Christians ARE ignorant, intolerant, uneducated and stupid (for example, look at almost any post here attacking evolution in defense of creationism), and it's almost inevitable that the well-meaning atheist is going to come across as mean.

Unfortunately there also ARE mean and childish atheists here - I've reported posts by several of them myself. But in general when I see a Christian upset at the behavior of an atheist I reserve judgment. In my experience, it's probably an overreaction by the Chrstian to honest behavior by the atheist.

Yes, but what's your point? There are some very nice theists. There are some very nice atheists. There are arrogant theists. There are arrogant atheists. There are cruel and manipulative theists and cruel and manipulative atheists. In fact, the percentages are about the same.
Rather than disproving the atheist's point about morality, it seems to make it. It is the theist who usually claims that their god dictates morality. Yet theists aren't any morally superior to atheists. this tends to prove that it isn't the belief in the god that is causing people to behave in a moral manner but, rather, society, culture, psychology, biology, etc. The atheists seem to be right here even though many atheists are as impolite as many theists.

Alot of us are tired of being told that we're going to hell, and have a chip on our shoulders about it. I don't do any of those mean things. I do make jokes sometimes. But it is for fun, and what are atheists if not irreverant? Plus, the atheists who post here are only a fraction of us, and likewise for the christians. People in this catagory are looking to make jokes, statements, arguments, or sermons. That's just the way it is. We don't mind fighting with you if you rise to the occasion, and give us something silly to laugh about. So, if you want to hurt us, don't quote the bible and argue about how wrong we are. O.K.? We think it's funny. cheers

Funny how the christians don't see it when they do the same. Don't insult the one side because the other does the same. If you chose not to believe me, then take this explanation. I am a miserable godless soul doomed for hell, who wants to spread my hate and evil to all others. Now that I have given you what you want to hear, you can feel good, and have a great day.

"when we KNOW you are provoking us" Cool and you getting provoked?
I tough the whole idea of ABraham to get ready to kill his only child for the Genosidal god was to show that ppl should stay on track no matter who provkes them. And you saying you been provoked?
How about your own Jesus teaching about temptations and turn the other chick?
Who cares who provokes you.. as long as you are true Christian and not one who just claims to be that should be irrelevant.

But i do agree with you that athiest provoke Christians for Crusaids, SPanish Inquisition, Mass murder of non-belivers. Torturing ppl for thier religious or non religious belive. I guess poor Chirstian were jsut provoked.

And the hell provoked GOD when he Genocide the whole planet? may be athiest?

Let me leave you with a quote:

"With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."

Dear D.D.,
I think that if the atheists are "moral", "kind" , "nice and welladjusted",it is because somewhere they were influenced either by a Christian or by the Law which is based on Christian values. Do not waste you time on them. Pray God will show mercy on them and ENJOY your life that Jesus died to give you............
