No it makes her hyper. Activity level and intelligence are two different things.

No, of course not!! If a kid is hyper all the time, that doesn't make him or her stupid, right? They just have a lot of energy. Often, the hyper dogs are super-smart; you just have to come up with ways to keep that super-smart brain stimulated and body active.

My dog was a crazy-hyper puppy and luckily, she's a lab. So we played ball with her and she can bring the ball back for hours and be happy. We even try to toss the ball into places that are hard to get to so that she has to figure out how to get the ball back. She loves it!

I have a hyper dog too and trust me she is definitely not stupid. Your dog just has a lot of pent up energy to the point where she just doesn't want to listen to you because she needs to work it off. If you crate your dog, try letting it out more, take it to a dog park so other dogs can do the work for you. Exercise will help calm the dog down.

my dog was hyper active until about 12. we always hoped she'd grow out of it, but never did. it took double knee surgery and her going blinde over the past 2 years for her to calm down. finally
