This was a sign that had been on someones gate for 30 years, it had been put there because the owners of the house were disturbed by Jehovah's witnesses on xmas day 30 years ago.
Police have ordered the couple to take down the sign because they had recieved 1 complaint a few days ago.
Personally i think it's wrong for them to take it down, it just seems that society as a whole has lost it's sense of humour and is too quick to jump up and down on people for the pettiest of reasons in the name human rights!

What do you think????

I think the sign is hilarious. I think it would have been easier to ask the local congregation to not come by. They would still want/need to check every year or two to see if she still lived there or felt that way, but we try to respect the feelings of the people we call on. We are trying to share information. If a person does not want the info then that is there choice.

P.S. I hope they let her put the sign up. I love most JW jokes.

The sign seems in bad taste, and indicates the hatred and bigotry which too many feel toward Jehovah's Witnesses. Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

The police still have do to their job, even if they think some things are pointless. They probably had a good laugh, and secretly wish they could could bring all the criminals round to the house instead of clogging up the cells.

Maybe they could put a up new sign 'If you don't believe in blood transfusions please knock'.

It must be good for the dog if it's lived for 30 years, most people only have theirs for 14 years, you could make a fortune selling Jehovah's witnesses on e-bay!

This is so typical of those brainwashed by that cult. They have no sense of humour what so ever.
It gets programmed right out of them.
So hypocritical of them, they won't serve on a jury or vote but bruise their pride and they will go running to the courts, saying you are infringing on their freedom of religion, what about the right of free speech.
I have the misfortune of have been in the cult for 15 years now happily deprogrammed. Ex JW now
I know how they teach in services about all this anti witness propaganda, which there is none, well only what they make up to keep the sheep paranoid. Funny thing is they love to think they are being persecuted, so you would think they would demand the sign be kept up.
Tell them to take their freedom of cult and give back every ones freedom of speech.

This site is run by Ex JW's and shows what they really think

Put the sign back up

I think it is up to the owner of the property to decide what goes on their gate. I would have to agree with these people that Jehovah's witnesses are very annoying and rude, they don't just knock once.... but over and over and over again!!!! Why don't they get the hint that people aren't interested and go away. If people wanna join their ludicrous religion they will in their own time. KEEP THE SIGN!!!!!! The person complaining was probably one of them!!!!

Well freedom of speech seems to be losing it's standing as well. I personally think it is wrong for people to come to your door try to force their religion down your throat and not want to get off your doorstep no matter how many times you ask. I think it is ridiculous to make them take down the sign. I agree what happened to a sense of humor.

It may be well with YOU that this might have been funny or that it may be in good taste of "humour". However, like many, it is sad that YOU do not see the seriousness in this, and how ignorance is to blame for this.

M.L.King, Jr. once said: "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscience stupidity."

Please consider for a monent how prejudice it would be if the 'witnesses' was place with a religion like, Moslems, or Jews? At times it can be easy not to think first before we act and so our consequences can lead to serious problems. Thus love for others causes us to consider who our neighbours is or how we can get to know them better.

So, are Jehovah['s] Witnesses any worst? Consider please this point how the name Jehovah['s] [JHVH] was used there. According to Psalm 83:18 it reads: "That people may know that you, whose name is JEHOVAH, You alone are the Most High over all the earth." (NWT, See also KJV)

Also, (Exodus 6:3) "And I used to appear to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as God Almighty, but as respects my NAME JEHOVAH I did not make myself known to them."

HOWEVER, The Bible warns us: (Exodus 20:7) “You must not take up the name of JEHOVAH your God in a worthless way, for JEHOVAH will not leave the one unpunished who takes up his name in a worthless way."-(ASV,JB, NWT)

(Deuteronomy 5:11) “‘You must not take up the name of Jehovah your God in a worthless way, for Jehovah will not leave anyone unpunished who takes up his name in a worthless way.

It is one thing to use our heavenly father's name out of love & devotion; Than rather to do so out of a 'sense of humour', to our grand creatour's name, using it in a worthless way to please ourselves. (something to think about)

i think it is a great sign! lol
i think it is a shame when every1 talks about freedom of speech and then the same people stop us from talking!

Jehovah's witnesses should learn that if some1 is not already a Jehovah' then they r probley never goin to be 1! i hate it when they come to my door and say that everything i believe in a wrong and that if i don't believe what they believe then I'm not living the way God wants me too! i mean who r they to come into my home and say that?!?!

i think they should keep the sign up and the Jehovah's should read it and leave them alone to celebrate what they want the way they want!

i believe the government is slowly and methodically taking away all of our rights and freedoms
what right do the police have to tell me to remove something such as a sign from "my" property?
NONE
yet we allow this and every other freedom we have left to continue to be removed from us
I would not have taken it down if that is how i felt....can you read the headlines now....couple arrested for sign display...in other news, the people who are killing, raping, molesting, etc.. are all out there still roaming our streets cause the police have nothing better to do than to hassle someone about a sign on property that belongs to them....
jeese

be cool...
