World War III began when the Terrorist decided to attack the US on September 11, 2001 and drag us into the border skirmish that has been going on in the Middle-East since 1948.
It has to be remembered that Israel was our main allies in the Middle East when the majority of Arab nations were sided with the Soviet Union. It also has to be remembered that the Soviets oppressed the Christians and the Jews, but gave Islam free reign. Also while the Arabs say they were there first, there has been a Jewish presence when Israel is not going back to antiquity, and while Rome did scatter the Jews, even after 73 C.E. there remained a Jewish presence there. The Arabs want to deny this, but it has been proved via archaeological findings. The Arabs are NOT innocent in this at all, they are not Victims at all. Jordan was created by the Arabs to prevent Palestine from being located there. All of this anti-Jews, and US nonsense is Arab propaganda.
It also has to be noted that we have never supported Israel with by putting our troops into their war. This is not the same for the Arabs. We have put our troops on the ground to keep them out of the fire.

Yep. We haven't done enough. We will do better when someone stronger and with more sense than George Bush gets in office. Hurray Israel! Kick Muslim butt! Stop watching Muslim propaganda.
Syria and Iran are the ones who have provided weapons disproportionately. The weapons we provided Israel with--are just a heck of a lot better and far more powerful.

what is "morally" correct,( "right" )is not necessarily the deciding point.. the U.S. has an "agenda" just like any other country. whoever is aligned with that agenda, naturally enough, will receive support. israel is an ally because its interests and ours coincide. looking a bit deeper, this country is run by international corporate interests, who feel much more supportive of a "1st world, "democratic", technologically advanced, basically populated with educated european type people, than with those not similarly attuned. moreover, given the volatile nature of the middle east, and the oil reserves, which are of course vital to our interests, an ally situated there that helps us to preserve those interests is vital.so, it's really a matter of pragmatism--"realpolitik", rather than "goodness", especially here on the "earth plane".

Yes. It's called a strategic alliance in a vital region of the world. Every country....i'll repeat EVERY COUNTRY does thing for THEIR interests.
Additionally, if we didn't aid Israel, they would have been destryed a long time ago. Regardless of what the antisemites think out there, Israel has the right to exist.

We don't have any obligation to provide any support at all. In this country the government isn't even supposed to give out 'charity' in the strict sense of the word. We don't consider that a legitimate expenditure of government. That is for private giving, which I think you should look up to balance your numbers.
Our government spends money to support our allies and seek our best interests in the same way Mexico or Arab governments spend money. In addition, there is support for absolute horror situations like Dafur. However, we think the government should not collect taxes to give money to other countries. We think the government should perform designated tasks, and individuals should be free to send their money to the charities they select as individuals.
In addition, we spend an awful lot on Latin Americans if you look at how much we spend on those living inside of our country.
I don't think 'proportionate' spending is an issue. I might consider more spending in Latin America a way to help them to take care of their own so we don't have to, however, which would fall under the 'protecting our interests' category suitable for governmental spending.
As I understand it, Latin America is rich in natural resources and is nowhere near in the same situation as Africa.

Why do you feel this is disproportionate? Israel has been a STRONG ally of the US. Not all monies come from the government. Much comes from Jewish Americans, Christians who are concerned about the possibility of Arabs over running Israel, etc.

America has given more aid to Israel than Hispanic countries but we've also given equal amounts to Arab countries. We've given more in arms to Israel than anyone else but only because of the lopsided effort of the rest of the world to see to Israel's demise. Within 6 months of the inception of Israel, all their neighbors ganged up to destroy Israel and they repelled them without American support that time. We basically forced them to sit down at the negotiating table with those that swore to drive them into the sea by condition of our support. We've matched everything we've given to Israel with aid to their neighbors.
