I'm not just talking about the prostitutes and golddiggers who "date" fat ugly Western men.
There are a lot of hot Chinese chicks with young Chinese boyfriends too. But many of these Chinese boyfriends are fat, or rude, or ugly, or dorky, or just plain jerks, and very overprotective.

by the way, most of these are not "arranged marriage" couples. arranged marriages are still common in the countryside in China, but in the cities young people date just like they do in the west

yes, very true, even here in the uk, chinese men are very over protective over their gf's, its always, dont do this, dont do that, i see it very often, have visited china and when you go to restaurants the ladies sit very close to their bf's and dare not look at another, its so not right!!

Hi, you're funny. Yes, these types can be found, but there are also a lot of nice, intelligent, athletic, friendly and good looking Chinese guys ! And do you think there are no such jerks in other parts of the world ?
The one problem that is often seen among Chinese guys is that they are often so bossy...I hate it ! So that is something to be careful of. But..obviously you're not a girl, so you don't have to worry about it :)

Not every girls like that! Those girls u saw, both of them don't study, don't stay at home, the parents don't care about them......
These cost them to trust the bad guys and believe those fat, rude, dorky boys can protect them or eventhough can give the girls what they want......(just illusion)
Normal girls and most girls won't do those foolish things!

The men are protective of them.
The superficial aspects so common to western coupling are not so evident in China as people tend to judge a potential mate by quality of character, compatibility, and monetary security before good looks.

because they have money? i don't know, it happens a lot, don't you see those fatazz and ugly rappers surrounded by hot chicks all the time? isn't it because they have money? Oh ok so you say not that kind......my bad. Because they are really into the personality, or they are blind, or is the only thing available, or like someone else said, they are still being picked by the family, and they are the sons of other wealthy and well known families, which brings us back to MONEY!

Maybe it's because you're a guy, so your point of view is different from a girl's point of view. For example, if a girl were to examine the guy, would they think differently? Perhaps so.
