Yes, it's OK. They put it out there for the public and that includes you. It's good to hear that a parent respects their children's privacy though. Your kids are lucky to have you!

it will be fairly unique in some human beings's exercises and events; on the extra person-friendly persons use, the recommendations would be rather wide-unfold and regularly used (albeit call sort products) on account that customary procedures are hammered out on a daily basis with the only version being advancements and updates interior the risk-free practices utility and risk-free practices products. quite I even have not are available in the time of any new procedures however the utilities strengthen on a similar time as extraordinarily lots doing the comparable issues. this could sound stupid even with the undeniable fact that that's an occasion i visit apply besides (as i'm no risk-free practices expert). If workstation viruses initiate floating down from entrails or increasing from crop circles to locate their way into our computers, that rather could be very alien. that's no longer occurring, a minimum of I even have not heard of it!

Sure, it's okay.
I'll tell you what....it is also okay if it is password protected.
Here's why.
As a parent, you have a duty to protect your kids from harm - whether from others or themselves. There is no right to privacy for your kids who are minors. It is a privilege that is earned.
Just like the government can barge into your house if they have reason to believe you are doing something harmful to self and/or others thus putting aside any right you may have to privacy, a parent can override a kid's privacy for the protection of their child.
Now, don't get me wrong. You want to respect their privacy whenever possible, but it should be made clear to them that you can override it when you deem necessary.
Here are a list of the "rights" your kids have:
1. A right to a roof over their head
2. A right to be fed regularly.
3. A right to be clothed properly
4. A right to an education
5. A right to medical care as needed
and finally...
6. A right to be protected from harm (whether from themselves or others)

It depends...on LiveJournal, for instance, often you can set the entries to just be seen by friends. If the entries are set this way, I would say no, it's not okay. If you can access the journal just like you can any normal webpage, as you are saying, no passwords or by going into someone else's account -- well, then yes. If it's as easy as going to the Coca Cola website, then it's public and I say read away.

I don't see anything wrong with, after all it is open to the public, but I wouldn't let them know that I have read it and if there is something that's up there that isn't quite right just beat around the bush until you come to that particular subject

wow... tats a tough question. even though the online journals are open to the public, i feel it not right to read them... i felt as though as my parents dont trust me if they do that.... its almost as my parents are spying on me... if there is anything at all, i feel parents should believe their children will come to them when in need... if parents know they brought them up the right way, there is nothin to worry about... plus, parents whom have played their roles right will have their children coming to them at any times out of trust, love and respect... try asking them how they feel about this matter... maybe you can put it in such way saying someone you know(parent) reads their childrens online journal... maybe then, you might have some clarification on what is right and what can be done.

Given the environment today of on-line predators and dangers, I would say DEFINITELY read the on-line journal of your kids. Any parent needs to take on the responsibility to know what they are doing even in cyberspace -- and to make sure that the child is NOT unwittingly bringing danger into your life or their life or the life of your family

NO! NEVER! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! They put "anyone," which is like saying, "I will let perfect strangers read this because they don't know me and therefore can't judge, but I would absolutely die if someone I knew got to this."
They know you will love them no matter what, but if you ever read it they would be so embarrassed, even if you didn't judge them for it. Things might not ever be the same between you!
