I have the understanding that a Jew is some one born in Judea, Jerusalem, Israel.

Can some one not born in that geographical area become Jewish, the religion?

And why do people characterize it as one.?

so everyone is saying if you are born from a Jewish woman you are Jewish.

Kinda like saying if you are born from a mexican woman you are Mexican, no matter if you are born in china?

Judaism is the Religion which are called Jewish.

But Still Jewish is being used as an ethicity.

Jewish is an ethnicity. It doesn't matter where they are born, but who they are born to. Followers of the Jewish faith are also called Jews, however.

No...people born in Israel (there is no Judea anymore) are Israelis. There are Jewish Israelis and Christian Israelis and even Muslim Israelis. Judaism is a religion. If you were born to a Jewish mother, then you are Jewish. The father's religion is irrelevant. So, I was born in America...I'm an American who is of the Jewish faith. What's so hard to understand about that?

its a complicated answer

Jews are people born from those that practice the Jewish faith. Traditionally these people have married amongst themselves and quite often can trace their roots (though family trees or DNA) to the Middle East and the people of Judea.

that dose not have to be the case. A person can become Jewish by converting to Judaism, the religion, and as such be part of the original descendants of Judea

it can be one or the other, I think most of the hatred towards them stems more from the geographical aspect, rather than the religious aspect, but somehow people think the fighting in the middle east is a religious war.
