I would like to know if it is safe to buy used foot wear such as athletic sandals, boat shoes, and sneakers etc. My mother don't like me buying used footwear half the time.

If you happen to know the previous owner and have made sure that he or she didint suffer from any foot disease, go ahead, you may do so. Otherwise, no. Too risky. You wouldn't stick your footsies into the shoes of someone who has athletes' foot, would you?

Use a spray bottle with water a bleach and give them a mist and let them dry. That should kill anything that might would harm you (athlete's foot etc).

That is so wrong and gross. The germs. The smell. I would not want to put my feet where some one elses feet where.
