LOL @ Bob P - you give advice on not being an asshole and then tell us of how you try to kill cyclists. Um, ok!

This is simply a question. I did not give any personal opinion in my question - and am asking simply for a reason WHY you will or will not participate. NOT whether you think that SUV drivers or cyclists should be shot.

Examples pro could be that it raises awareness about the dangers of greenhouse gases and the alternative transportation available. Also, to make drivers aware that cyclists share the road and by law belong there.

E.g. con: it's contradicting their motto, "we're not blocking traffic, we are traffic," since traffic should be able to keep up with the flow, not completely block it.

Critical Mass is an awesome concept, especially for urbanites, and especially with the astronomical price of gas. If there were one happening anywhere near me I would participate. I love the camaraderie, the fuel savings, and the attention brought to green issues in general. So festive and positive.

However, I dwell in a remote, geographically isolated county of 60,000 people. We're in Northern California, 100 miles north of San Francisco in the Coast Range. We don't really do anything en masse. My small contribution will be to ride my bike to the local farmers' market tomorrow, rather than driving.

Essential: Whoever informed you that Judaism does no longer believe inside the afterlife is mistaken. The normal Jewish view, which has been circular for a minimum of 2000 years is that when a individual passes on, his/her soul is judged through the Creator. They're punished for his or her dangerous offerings and rewarded for his or her well deeds. The biggest change among this and the christian perception is that our G-d is reasonable and conveniently and does no longer say all or not anything. No one is excellent, G-d does no longer assume us to be high-quality. We're punished the dangerous that we do, we cross to hell for it, nevertheless most effective as a passing level. After we "do our time" in hell, we switch directly to everlasting existence in heaven. The culture is that probably the most time a person can spend in hell is eleven months, besides for men and women who are simply evil like Haman and generally Hitler and so on... At the identical time this isn't the top motivation for looking Torah law (we strive this out of affection for our Creator) it's considered a primary detail of Judaism.
