Males are typically physically dominant over females in the regards of strength. And there are mental things that each males and females have a tendency to show better aptitude for. In the cultural sense, here in the US it is changing. Women were under-spoken due to men recording history and holding strategic positions and loads of people being suspect of women for reasons that aren't entirely clear.

Good question. In my eyes they certainly aren't. But I think perhaps because physically they are generally more powerful than women they think they can rule over us!
Women are 'meant' to be the ones who look after the baby at home, while the man goes and works and to be honest it does usually work out this way so it SEEMS that males are dominant, but usually only in the workplace.
However, ask anyone who is the dominant one at home and I guarantee most will say the woman.
After all, every man has a mother....

Blame it on the corpus callosum that connects the left and right hemispheres of the human brain. It is a large bundle of nerves but much larger in the female than the male brain. As a result men (with poor left-right communication) reside in the left or right brain but not both simultaneously. Woman use both sides of the brain at the same time. Since the left side is logical and the right side is emotional, men are either logical or emotional. If they are emotional (angry?) and are not held back by logic, they are apt to be more aggressive; very good at hunting dangerous animals in packs while dressed in skins. Women are apt to attach logic and emotion to all thought processes; very good for tending the children (back at the cave?). Men can choose whether to be emotional or rational; and often choose poorly and behave too aggressively. However, a dominant male is no match for a really smart femme fatale, right?

Male praying mantises aren't. Many female bugs like to eat their mates up (example shown). Physical structure (genetics) probably has to do with it. It is believed that females can't endure more pain since they can give childbirth without having a nervous systematical disorder.

They aren't dominant over females, unless the female 'lets' them.

Some yes and some not. And this is because of changeable women. Usually ladies like first to enjoy "Jingis Chan" and later, after the experience, they switch to not dominant man.

Men are only dominant in physical strength. Women are equal in every other aspect.

Because in the REAL WORLD... men are the leaders and the providers and women are the ones who stay home and make babies. It's only in wimpy America where the traditional sexual roles have been artificially changed, as 'men' get in touch with their feelings.

I would love to meet a man who wants to dominate the stove, kitchen sink, laundry and other chores...I would happily surrender this domain to any man who wants it.
