That's actually not true...

Paraplegics have a much, much higher incidence of DVT than the general population.

Studies suggest the incidence in the general population is around 80/100,000 - 0.08% per year. This is, probably, an underestimate. But in any case if you compare that to the incidence in patients with spinal cord injury (the most common cause of paraplegia) the incidence is 5.4% per 90 days - much, much more common. And that incidence doesn't change with time after the original injury (data from 2005 study linked to below).

First, I'd like to see the evidence that paraplegics never get DVT.
