I have two basic ways to get my creativity flowing....a nice leisurely trip to the mega-book store and its magazine rack usually works for a quick hit. I don't just look at the photo magazines....Architectural Digest, Southern Living, Popular Mechanics......lots of periodicals pay major money for photographers to create content for them. Some of it is way out there and not to my taste BUT perhaps the technique used to make the image might help you. Maybe some photoshop trick could take one of your so-so shots and add new life.
Another technique is to attempt to photograph a word. Now I know that sounds weird but it helps me.
Instead of the old saying "A picture is worth a thousand words." I just flip it around...."A word is worth a thousand pictures." Simple words can induce a lot of images like Love, Fear, Passion, Peace or Humor. Or I try to select a certain color (you can go the easy way and pick a primary color like red...or you could go for a harder color like gold....I found crosses on white churches....the edge of fine china....the sun reflecting off tidal pools at sunset.) You can only improve your photography when you challenge your limitations.

IN YOUR DEFENSE I'M SURE YOU'RE A GOOD PHOTOGRAPHER EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE CREATIVE BLOCKS. EVERYONE GOES THROUGH THAT!! ANYONE WHO IS A DECENT PHOTOGRAPHER WOULD KNOW THAT. I'M LUCKY BECAUSE I LIVE IN AN AREA OF THE BLACK HILLS WHERE THERE ARE MILES OF INSPIRATION. BUT EVEN SO YOU COULD GO FOR DRIVES. I LIKE TO HIT THE ANTIQUE STORES, THEY HAVE A LOT OF HISTORY AND OBJECTS TO GIVE ME IDEAS EVEN IF IT'S NOT ANTIQUE RELATED. THEN I CAN SPEND ALL MY MONEY THERE, TOO! I TAKE WALKS EVERYWHERE AND LOOK UP OCCASIONALLY AS I GO TO SEE WHAT I CAN. I GO TO THE MALL! THERE ARE TONS OF PEOPLE WHO MAY GIVE ME IDEAS FOR GOOD SHOTS. SOMETIMES I CAN GET INSPIRED BY NOT TRYING SO HARD. SOMETHING WILL FIND ME INSTEAD. IF YOU CAN GET IN AND PERMISSION, CHURCHES ARE A GOOD SOURCE FOR IDEAS WITH THE LIGHTING AND SUBJECT MATTER. HANG OUT WITH YOUR FAMILY, THEY MIGHT DO OR SAY SOMETHING INADVERTENTLY THAT WILL GIVE YOU AN IDEA. YOU MAY NOT BE INTERESTED IN PEOPLE, SCENERY, ANTIQUES OR CHURCHES BUT THEY CAN LEAD TO OTHER IDEAS THAT TURN YOU ON. AND YOU PROBABLY NEVER GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT YOUR CAMERA. OPPORTUNITIES WILL APPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE SOMETIMES. HOPE THIS GIVES YOU A FEW IDEAS BUT MOST OF ALL, JUST HAVE FUN WITH YOUR CRAFT, OTHERWISE WHAT'S THE POINT? IF YOU LOOSEN UP AND RELAX INSPIRATION MIGHT HAPPEN... HOPE IT HELPS!

I have been an avid photographer since I was about 7 years old (that was a long time ago)...Everything you see is a possible photograph..the light isn't always right, the subject doesn't always do what you'd like it to, but there is still a moment to capture...If you specialise in a particular form of photography I.E. landscapes, portraits etc; or if you would just like some advice, then email me murphy51024@yahoo.ca and I'll se if I can help..

Pick up the camera, go somewhere you don't usually go. Examine things there, until you start taking pictures.
Try to find odd angles for looking at the same old things. Wait for a storm to pass over, before and after the storm take outside pictures. The storm moving motivates your need to work quickly.
Get a different perspective on an old subject, look upside down, sideways, angled. Try filters.

I love old architecture. I will take my camera and just stare at old building, then take hundreds of shots at all different angles, zoom in to a specific part of the building and just zone out into a creative world and see what I come out with. What do you like taking pictures of, find and go click crazy, then try to plan unique angles but don't think about it too much and remember to have fun.

I get inspired by not trying to be Creative and simply try and tell a story or get my viewer to think about something even if it's just a point of humour!

I always get inspired when I'm in an art gallery or artsy gift shop. I see great ideas that I know I'm capable of doing myself. Once I see that the other artists are working I think I should back to work myself.

Change your hobby, you don't sound like a dedicated photographer to me.
You seem to lack the passion that others have.
One way to get inspiration is to join a camera club or find a "camera buddy" mix with people who have a passion for photography.
Look at other people's work and find something you like and try to better it.

I have my camera in my purse at all times. I just take lots of pics. My inspiration comes naturally so I don't know how to tell you to get inspired.
