My gut reaction to the "Pride" shown in marching for Mexico and against America...my reaction to a post where one student refuses to Pledge to our flag....and my knowledge of the lame punishments administered by the school system caused me to react strongly..

Seriously, very seriously....the position of schools is to teach. If we are giving illegals an education...free...then where is the breakdown.

My question should have been...Why the massive lack of gratitude?

Are our students being brainwashed into thinking the world owes them and everyone a great life..

If this is the folly of youth, why? This was a huge number of children, if you will, in the streets...this was civil disobedience as they were all, required by law, to be in school..

While I did overreact to deporting those with a legal right to be here...I do not believe I overreacted to the rest..

BUT for the overreaction, I apologise.

Think of why in our history over and over again we had to get most of the mexicans back to mexico here. I believe we are learning all over again what our ancestors already learned, but this time the hard way. The pro-criminals are demonstrating to me over and over agian the only way to make them Americans is through another war.

I don't think you should apologize, they are old enough to understand that this country is the one giving then the eduction they need not Mexico, Mexico is not giving their parents jobs or health care, or offering them the basic needs to survive, it is this country the United States, all Mexico did was push them out and they are still pushing their poor people out, Those kids are old enough to no better, their parents run to this country for security and jobs and then turn around and protest, because we want to stop this invasion, that is our right, we have to protect our selves also, especially if the government is not going to do it.

My family has been here since the first slaves, and I refuse to pledge allegiance to a flag. I work with fabric everyday and turn it into all sorts of things. If you want to take that fabric and turn it into a symbol that represents a division from the rest of mankind that's your prerogative, but I will pledge allegiance to nothing that symbolizes separation.

People have a right to be a bit muffed-this was not a peaceful-respectful-protest. If the Leaders were acting disrespectfully-the others should have walked away. To show they were no part of that. If my child took part in anything that was disrespectful--I would hope he would have to face the consequences of his actions.
I don't believe their protest accomplish anything-really-it hurt them in the eyes of many. And I don't believe Parents who allow their children to take part in Adult issues did the right thing by allowing it. They were using their children.

I agree with you that the students who skipped school were in the wrong, but some of the punishments such as long term suspension was ridiculous. We have students that skip nearly everyday for no reason and usually with no punishment, but they skipped one day to protest and got punished for a school year.

A lot of what a kid experiences in life are part of growing up. I have changed my views as I got older. I used to be an extreme liberal and now I am a moderate conservative. We have to let our kids grow up and make their own choices based upon their own experiences.

You felt passionately. Just as the unappreciative illegals do. You have valid points on many counts.
