But its not a book harry. Religion is a limitation on our idea of God.
No more, no less.

It could be all of these at different stages in an individual's life. I am sure it is at least one for many people. But I am not sure that one of these is for me. Religion as many ppl see it these days is viewed in a way you've projected here but I see it as a quest for the values of the ideal life. I found this in an older dictionary that I own. It broadened my perspective. The modern connotation of the word is not the most positive one....even in some churches and with some who have faith the word is not highly favored. But religion in a more pure sense of the word is what so many ppl are going through and doing anyway. It is in a form truth. So for me I will not say it is either a. b. c. or d. but rather a journey for truth in one's life....a quest for understanding. And that is not a bad thing at all. It is something continued, a growing process.

Religion is a human phenomenon that defies easy definition. It is commonly understood as a group of beliefs or attitudes concerning an object (real or imagined), person (real or imagined), or system of thought considered to be supernatural, sacred, divine or highest truth, and the moral codes, practices, values, institutions, and rituals associated with such belief or system of thought. It is sometimes used interchangeably with "faith" or "belief system"[1] In the course of the development of religion, it has taken many forms in various cultures and individuals.
Occasionally, the word "religion" is used in the more restrictive sense of "organized religion" — that is, an organization of people supporting the exercise of some religion, often taking the form of a legal entity (see religion-supporting organization).

A, B, and D.
Read it, try to understand it. Apply what parts you think are good to your life, and don't end your quest for knowledge. Question it, and read other books about the same religion and other religions.
Only through knowledge can you make an informed opinion and decision.

i hear u
let's say u read it.. u like it and u're convinced, but it may be controversial
so u read another, compare it with the first.. u still dont think any of them is convincing enough
read another
but i doubt u would look for all these religions
if u believe there is a God then there must be a religion that was sent by Him, however if u dont believe then why bother
I've read mine (Islam) maybe not all of it but i definitely think it's perfect, maybe not all Muslims are what they're supposed to be but that's human nature. i never said i was the perfect Muslim but as long as we try to fulfill it then that's the whole point

Religion is not a book. Religion is a practice, not a state of being. If you are referring to the Bible---the Bible, compiled pages sewn together with a binding material---it's just a book and is not the object of the Christian faith.
The Words of God are hidden in our hearts, memorized, because Bibles---in China, Iran, Iraq, Syria, for example---are illegal. You can actually be arrested if you have a Bible "book" in your possession.
The Words of God are also imparted to us through the leading of the Holy Spirit, who can prompt our minds and our hearts with passages that we can readily bring from our hearts and our minds from memorization.
You can burn Bibles. You can burn whatever Christian Inspirational book you choose. God's Word is forever, and will not come back void.

if religion was a book i'll go with b and d. "little knowledeg is a dangerous thing" those who just read or look over just teh basics of a religion....they can't interpret it well. and knowledge of something is useless unless applied to real life....
