Do a Ctrl-Alt-Del and click Task List to call up the Windows Task Manager. Click the Performance tab. You will see different charts and figures. One of them is the Physical Memory. It shows how much memory you have in your computer and how much is being used at the moment. You can also see the CPU usage history. The most common causes of slowness are either something is taking up the CPU usage or something is taking up the memory. Once you have discovered whether it is CPU or memory or both that is(are) causing the slowness, you click on Processes and it will list out all the stuff that is running on your computer at the moment. Those columns are sortable. You click on a column to sort it in descending order and if you click it again, it will be in ascending order. If the problem is low on memory, click Mem Usage column to sort it by descending order (so, the stuff that is taking up most memory would appear first). If the problem is CPU, then CPU Time column.

Once the list is in sorted order, you then check out to see what is taking up most of your CPU or memory.

1) Do it when the comptuer is slow and as you are checking out what is taking up your CPU or memory, see if there is a trend that you can find.

2) Sometimes, you just have too many stuff running. Maybe you should close down some programs that you are not using.

3) If you find some services that you are not using, you can go to Control Panel to stop those services.

4) If you find a program that does not look familiar to you, you can google it to see what that program is related to. If it were spyware or stuff like that, you will need to install some spyware detection and removal program. Also, you can re-configure the security setting in your internet browser to tighten the security.

History deletion
Files deletion
Maybe cookie deletion
These 3 from your tool menu on your server.
Run Anti Spy Ware
Run Virus Scan
Run a Registry Cleaner
Run a Spy Bot Utility
Download and run aSquared
and
Download and run Hijack This if nothing works.
But, be careful of the files you delete when running the utilities.
After deleting cookies, you will have to resign in your sites.
When Yahoo does not load properly, which is often for me,
I clear History, Files, and Cookies, usually eliminating the problem

first thing try to see the space in your windows directory. it is very necessary that your windows directory has some extra space.

if your system is running slower than your expectation then first thing you can do is open task bar and see processes. here you can see which software is taking more ram and accordingly you can adjust your ram uses.

if there is not a very big problem then try to you disk difragment. access this as start -> programs -> accessories -> system tools->disk difragmenter and see your hard disk needed disk difragment or not.

some other thing use disk cleanup to remove unnecessary files from your system. this utility is there in system tools.

try to use the above mentioned thing and enjoy the window.

Computer Slow

Download and then run startup.exe (FREEWARE) at:

http://www.mlin.net/startupcpl.shtml......

Can't live without it and windows...

Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.

Other things to try:

1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)
2 - Defrag
3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)

ALL ELSE FAILS - RELOAD YOUR O/S (WINDOWS) AND THEN REINSTALL ALL OTHER PROGRAMS YOU NEED/USE!
