They are unusual looking creatures, I suppose, but I don't think I'd classify them as rip roaring hilarious example of 'god's' sense of humor. If that's his best joke, I think he could do better.

Maybe it is just a matter of taste.

true they are unusual looking creatures.... as are a few others... but I don't think that it's God's only example of a sense of humor. ( and I have no idea how they taste...lol...) murphy's law list's a lot more of his jokes actually.....and.....jeez.... he pulls pranks on me every day.... why just a few minutes ago I found God.... and now its His turn to hide!

whether you go with an evolutionist standpoint (me) or a religious one or both, the duckbill platypus is pretty hilarious. i'm thinking something has a sense of humor. however, i believe june bugs have no actual "job" here on earth and think they might be inherently evil.

You wouldn't find it funny if one stung you.

Did you know the platypus has spikes behind its back feet that are poisonous? If you get stung by one, you suffer great pain and rapid tissue deterioration as the venom works on the tissue and the nervous system?

My Dad once said evolution couldn't explain the platypus cause it doesn't fit neatly into the zoological categories . . . though I beg to differ with that view.

Well, within their strict confines and belief in knowing what God is about, they can't explain these type of things and rationalize or use the Second Law of Thermodynamics to justify it.

I agree. And what about eye worms and Guinea worms and tapeworms and liver flukes and cancer? Was God in a bad mood the day he came up with those?
