For goodness sake -- go to the wedding on your own -- and enjoy the time with your family! Explain to your husband how you can always visit later with his buddies, but the occasion as important as a wedding in your family (especially since you have not seen them for a couple of years and MISS them terribly) means a LOT to you. GO! have fun, and be with your family.

i think it's wrong of him not to go, because as you say you go to all of his family gatherings, but in the same vein you really don't want a grumpy man with you at a wedding. if he doesn't want to go & he's made to there's a good chance he'll be annoyed the whole time & you'll spend the wedding coping with his behavior rather than enjoying your family.

He is selfish! You need to go to the wedding. Go without him. And have a wonderful time!!!!!
