It is about ALL illegals. Mexicans are a focal point for 2 reasons.
1. They constitute the vast majority of illegals (85%)
2. They focused attention on themselves due to the protests, burning the American flag, and waving the flag of Mexico during a protest in the U.S.

Due to the fact that Mexico shares it's border (if you can call it a border) with the U.S. it seems that Mexicans are the biggest target out there for your average minuteman.
The media doesn't help either. If any person of Hispanic descent is caught breaking the law, he's a Mexican. If a person of Hispanic descent is praised for any type of achievement, the media makes an extra effort to distinguish him or her from being Mexican, Panamanian, Honduran and so forth.
Since the majority of illegal immigrants cross the U.S./Mexico boder, your average American citizen in Iowa or Kentucky see them as all being Mexicans. When in fact there are Salvadoreans, Hondurans, Guatemalans, Nicaraguans, Colombians etc. etc.

The issue has been directed at the Mexican people, I don't care how you cut it. I don't hear people crying about all the terrorist who are illegally here. They are so worried about poor migrant families, when they should be worried about who's plotting to blow up the U.S.
Illegal immigration is a problem that needs to be fixed in a humane manner. We are above what all the other countries enforce, and as the great country that we are we should be able to come to a great solution without racism, and prejudices being involved.

Yes. The immigration debate is very much a racial/cultural debate against Mexico and Latin America. One of the key components of the debate is that white people feel threatened by the Spanish language and varying cultural influences in our society.
