indoor/outdoor because we got our cat from the neighbors when he was 1 year old. He had been going outdoors for a long time. When we tried to get him to be an indorr cat he couldn't do it so we let him do what he wants. Indoor cats tend to get less disease but they need to be played with often. Outdoor cats tend to get a lot of disease but they have to stay outdorrs all day long with not a warm house or adequete care.

My Kitty (Patches) is an indoor cat...because she would live a lot longer life by being kept in the house. If she were an outside cat or an inside/outside cat she would have disappeared shortly...like our other 2 did. :(
We let her out sometimes when she begs, and if someone is watching her. Surprisingly she has done a couple of All-nighters though!

I have had both at different times. Indoor cats live a lot longer and are more fun to play with. They also do not get fleas, ticks or diseases. An added benefit is no reaction to rabies shots or distemper shots as they do not need either. You do have to keep the litter box very clean (for your own sake as well).

I have two indoor cats that are in ALL OF THE TIME except vet visits and what not, and one neuter male who comes and goes all day long. he chose us as owners when he was a stray and has a wild side that almost requires him to go play in the trees and bushes and roll in the dirt. i would prefer not to have him go in and out as it dose increase risk to my indoor cats health. I prefer inside only cats as there are too many cat haters out there and cars and dogs and discarded radiator fluid and trash with poison in it just too many ways to harm a cat. but cats will be cats and that is that once and outside cat it's pretty hard to contain him inside afterwords.

indoor/outdoor because it's mean to keep a cat shut in a house his whole life, it's like being in prison.

Indoor only, I don't want the dirt and flee's from outdoors brought into the house, and she is content not going out.

I have two (male and female) cats. they are both inside cats. my 2 yr. old female is strictly inside because she is declawed on her front paws (don't worry, I regret getting it done). my 5 month old male kitty is strictly inside only cat too. he wants to go outside so bad because he's sooooo curious as to what is out there. but he's not going outside by any means. (he has his claws still and he's going to keep them) neither one of my kittys will ever be roaming outside because I live in a very large neighborhood where people let their dogs run around loose everywhere. plus the backyard of my house backs up to a busy farm market road. so those are the reasons why I keep my cats strictly indoors. especially my female. oh, and they live longer as well, less prone to getting hurt and catching diseases from stray cats. whoever says that keeping a cat inside a house all it's life is cruel, their just talking bullshit in my opinion. cats don't care if their inside or not. =^-^=

Mine is an indoor cat....less chance of fleas, less chance of picking up some sickness, less chance of fighting with another cat....mine is more healthy......He will sit near the window and watch the birds and his teeth will chatter and wiskers wiggle and he will make the strangest sounds.........I had an outdoor/indoor cat when I lived in Fl....and he got rabies, and I had to put him to sleep.....it was the hardest thing i ever had to do.............so now ALL my cats are indoor ones.........only drawback..........litterbox...
