I had dish network about 3 years ago and I wanted to renew about 2 months after my contract ended, but they told me that I couldn't renew with them because all of their offers were to new customers. So I was wondering if I could renew with Directv after my contract is over

You can most certainly call them and ask them if they have any new offers available for you. Directv does not have a contract, they have a year or two commitment, specially depending on the equipment you have( standard receivers 1 year, DVR or Tivo 2). After an offer expires they will probably not be able to reinstate it, but they do sometimes have similar offers to keep your business.Call them at 1-800-Directv, and theyll try to work out a good deal that suits your needs.

I'm sure you can renew, but you probably can't get special pricing. My contract was over and I was thinking about moving to dish network. I called DirecTV and let them know I was considering this move and asked if there was anything they could do to lower my bill (because I saw all of the "new specials"). They said the only thing they could do was lower my service package. Hmmm. So, I got a contract with Dish Network and called to cancel my DirecTV. When I called to cancel, all of a sudden they decided they could give me a discount. I let them know that it was too late because I had already signed a contract with Dish. THAT'S why I called them before doing anything. They missed their opportunity.

yes you can-Dish will let you- (if you go through a local retailer). They can usually figure out ways for you to start up again as a new customer. Or tell Dish you are going to go to DTV and see what they do then.
It's all the same in that sense. When you have DTV and want to renew, they will not offer you the new promos either, but if you switch and come back - you qualify.
DTV is much more expensive monthly, they do not have dual tuners which means you will pay for $5 for each box after first one. Just gotta figure out what you want more, cheaper monthly bill all the time, or new promotion for a couple months.

you should be able to renew with them, only you wouldnt get the special deals they offer to new subscribers. if they wouldnt let you renew, then apparently the customers would have to either resort back to dis, or cable.
but i would contact them and ask them.

Yes and you can get a better deal. Check their web site..they offer discounts from time to time. Also, you can talk to dishnetwork - I am sure they would welcome a new customer and would be willing to give you some discount!
