What the heck is going on in the Middle East?

I have been disconnected from the newspapers, TV, and Internet for three weeks, and all of a suddent there's something huge going on with Hezzbolla and Isreal. It so confusing trying to read the latest news when I don't have the background knowledge of what has already happened. So... can anyone clue me in on the basics?

I'd be glad to fill you in.Hezballah which is a terriost organization occupying lebanon crossed over the Israeli border killed 8 people and kidnapped 2 soldgiers.Israel retailiated by bombing some hezbollah targets. Hezballah in return then pointed all there missiles at Israel and began firing at will.Israel then basically destroyed the whole country's infrastucture and and has caused billion dollars worth of damsges to lebenon.Now are planning to go in with ground forces and once in for all rid the terriost group hezbollah.hezbollah is using women and children as shields.they are just like all other extreme islamic terriost groups they are cowards.you will prob hear of many innocent lives in lebenon dieing but make no mistake about it its not Israels fault its hezballohs fault that there innocent are dieing they started the conflict for no reason.

Read the Bible (the prophets Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah etc as well as the New Testament).
These are predicted things. It says that they will cry peace, peace, peace and their was none. Israel has signed treaty after treaty with it's neighbors only to have them attack them and take their land and kill their people. Peace treaties = no peace.
Two it will eventually get so bad that after the rapture (all those who place their faith and trust in Jesus taken from the world by Jesus) a peace treaty will be signed with the Antichrist and in the middle of the 7 years of tribulation at the 3 1/2 year mark the Antichrist will break the treaty and declare himself to be God.
After 7 years the Antichrist will be defeat by Jesus and his armies.
These things are all predicted.
Israel is hated and being attacked by several nations.

Here is the short story. Hezbollah took 2 Israel soldiers and declared was against Israel. Lebanon stayed out of it, but when the bombs started to drop they started to complain about their homes being destroyed. Now Al Qaeda is calling all Arabs to join in the fight against Israel. US and Britain is supporting Israel because they want Lebanon to kick out the Hezbollah and not support terror. Well I hope that gave you some idea, I know others will be more detailed so happy reading.

ok well here you go!:
1. 2 Isreali soldiers were founding crossing the Lebanese border (which was deemed illegal BY ISREAL) and so they were captured and held as captives by Hizbollah, BUT the soldiers are being used as a form of prisoner exchange (bc Isreal is holding wemon and children captive) so Isreal got angry with Hizbollah and said they can attack lebanon bc of it.
Im lebanese.. so this is really serious bussiness.. i pray there is a ceasefire soon.

I don't know but judging by how quickly Beirut has fallen, we have to wonder what would happen if those weapons were turned on us. How long would we (the Western world) last with that kind of fire power?
