You had a child 7 weeks ago and suffer from severe leg and foot pain and swelling. No one seems to know what's wrong. No blood Clots via Doppler and no spinal injuries via MRI. A EMG will be performed on Monday. Can you sue for pain and suffering when you don't have a diagnosis?

I would go to another Doctor and get him to run tests, or give you another opinion. I do know that when I had my son by c-section 2 months ago, I was in labor for 18 hrs, and I was given 9 bags of patocin in all.
My legs, body and face were so swollen that I was unrecognizable. you may also get swollen from the epidural. My husband kept asking if this was normal, or okay, She said people have different reactions to the patocin. When I look at the pictures, sometimes I cry, I looked awful. I get angry sometimes because you see other women who look great during all of it, Not me! I had him 2 months ago, and the swelling is now gone, It took a while for my body to get back to be somewhat normal. And yes it is very painful. I think that you should give this a little it more time. I wish you all the best!

My late mother-in-law used to have off days/ill days, and her Doctor used to pat her arm and tell her she needed a tonic. A few years down the line she moved house, still with the same Medical Practise but saw another Doctor, he sent her for tests and it seemed she had cancer. It was too far gone to do anything about it, and you always wonder if something could have been done, other then a pat on the arm. I think that is the only time when I felt like suing a Doctor, other then that I have all confidence in the Doctors that I have now.

No you cant sue unless you can prove the doctor caused you permanent harm.
I tried to sue my DR after he lied to me about getting a VBACK and induced me into labor without my consent.
I went into 24 hours of laber and pushed for 4 hours when the whole time he could have simply given me a C- section which he knew from the get go he would have to do.
They told me they were trying to keep the C section rates down for that hospital so they had to lie to me after it was all over.
Guess what. I had No case because both me and my son came out of it alive..
I'm sorry thats the way it is but you simply dont have a case at the moment

How soon after you delivered your baby did this start? Did you have an epidural or a spinal block? If so, you'd sue the anesthesiologist, not your ob/gyn.
Also, have you had an EMG before? Brace yourself...they're hellish.

God, people are Sue Crazy!!
Did the Doctor do anything that makes you think he did something wrong??
You probably have a pinched nerve from the baby laying wrong, give it time. I had numbness for weeks after one of my deliveries.

why do you want to sue???? to sue it would be saying the doc. caused it...you don't know whether the doc caused it...even if it was a blood clot!!! there are risks with any preganancy and delivery...if you want to sue anyone sue mother nature...or the guy who got you pregnant...or maybe yourself for putting yourself through this!!!!!!
on a side note...I hope they find what is wrong and that everything goes well for you and your new baby.

Not unless the doctor directly caused the pain..So you would have to have a diagnosis, or just cause. You have to prove the doctor is at fault for your pain.

Why would the doctor be responsible for your leg and foot pain?? Find a chiropracter and get your back adjusted. I bet your pain will disappear.

Did you have an epidural or spinal? Find out whats wrong w/ you first. Then if its something they did then yes but if its a natural cause no.

No you can't sue the Dr. you don't know what's wrong! If you could sue someone for "phantom pain" there wouldn't be any Dr.'s & lots of rich liars!!!!
