I'm 45 and dated a woman with 3 children, 9, 11, and 13. She told them I had the right to correct and mentor them and she trusted my judgement. We dated about a year and I really liked the kids. Mom occasionally had issues when one kid had 3 bball events per week and I went to one, doing other things the other days. I supported the kids regular involvement with their dad, but mom kept trying to do things like ask me to drive a child somewhere instead of their dad. I didn't agree with this.
Previously, I was in a marriage with a 14 year old girl. The mom said she had raised the girl and wanted to be the only parent. I didn't realize what a bad idea this was. If you read Boundaries with Kids by Cloud, you'll see you need to give behavior related consequences and need to talk directly to the child. In my case, mom was always in the middle. This didn't work at all.
So, it depends on the situation.

Yes, because I like children, consequently I gravitate to family-oriented women. I am currently 44, but I don't think that's particularly relevant because I have always felt this way even in my 20s and 30s. Plus, after a woman has children her tastes in men becomes more balanced. She's already experienced the bad boy ( he's probably the guy that got her pregnant and left her in the first place); now she wants a guy of substance...that's where I come in.

There are men that would date a woman with one or more children. It depends on who he is as person. Some men like kids, some don't. Some can accept a woman's children as well as the woman. Some can only accept their own children. I don't really think that there is a set answer for this.

sure would, they are some of the most easy to relate to women out there. age is not a factor...as long as you get along. I'm 35.
