Boar hunting?
The .500 S&W is top of the food chain in power today. The .454 Casul and Ruger .480 are also options. The .454 might be best since it will chamber cheaper .45 long colts as well. If one shot will do? A TC Encore with changable barrels is a good way to go.

are you trying to say that you're going "BOAR" hunting? The .45 Magnum is a pretty rare cartridge, do you have one already? If not I would look at the availability of ammunition, or bring plenty with you because if you run out most stores won't carry extras. Either gun is ample for boars. I killed a 300lb hog in texas with one shot from a 45 acp, so I would say either round is more than ample. Good luck

did you mean the .44 magnum? either way, I would assume a .500 from S&W would probably be more powerful than any other revolver. A popular caliber is the .454 Casull. Kicks like a mule.

The .500 S&W was designed for the grizzley. If I lived in a Rocky's state I wouldn't want anything smaller. The .460 S&W or the .454 Causel is sufficient for anything under a grizzley

.45 mag is rare and hard to find, 500 S&W mag is a little easier, however it is the most powerful handgun on the market.
