Here are few bible verses to meditate on that will help those of you who are truly interested in knowing what the bible says about masturbation. The word masturbation is not in the bible, yet, the bible teaches us principles that will help you to reason on the matter.
"For this is what God wills, the sanctifying of you , that you abstain from fornication; that each one of you should know how to get possession of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in covetous sexual appetite such as also those nations have which do not know God;" 1THESSALONIANS 4:3-5
Is masturbation really helping you to learn to control your sexual desires or to give in to them?
"Deaden, therefore, your body members that are upon the earth as respects fornication, uncleanness, sexual appetite, hurtful desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry."
COLOSSIANS 3:5
Are you deadening your sexual desires during masturbation, or are you exciting them? For more info go to www.watchtower.org

So what is YOUR question?

Ummm... sorry. I'll take science over the Unicorn Book. And science says I should crank away, it may even protect against prostate cancer.

But this really addresses a deeper question about Christianity.

Christianity demonizes many urges that are not inherently harmful to self or others (mostly sex acts). And do consider "not inherently harmful." Inherently. For instance, if I bring up premarital sex, invariably some Christian will start whining about STD's, and how that "proves" premarital sex is harmful. If STD's were inherent to premarital sex everyone who has it would get them. Some people, in "holy" marriages, may harm each other during sex. Can I "prove" that married sex is harmful? Of course not.

Anyway, why would any God create us with urges that are not inherently harmful, that are deep-seated, powerful biological imperatives, and never expect us to act on them? Makes less than no sense. Well, the only explanation that makes sense is that God is a defective manufacturer.

So please, stop damaging fragile young minds with lies about sexuality.

Most people who quote the bible usually quote it out of context because it's often the only way to support their bizarre views, which I might add are frequently not their own. If you are a religious fundamentalist then certainly you would agree that of all the words in the bible the 10 commandments are of a greater stature than the gospels you quoted. The gospels are recollections of events interpreted by the writers and as such are not necessarily the direct word of your god. The 10 commandments are, if I'm not mistaken, considered the direct word of your god. As such they carry more weight with me, and with most people of many various christian faiths. So I pose the question to you. If your god is so against the evils of masturbation, why is there not a commandment against it?
It is because of followers like you who parrot and misquote the great books of faith (of which the bible is one of many, although I'm fairly sure you'd disagree) that I stay away from organized religion. I'm living the ten commandments and enjoying my self pleasuring activities.
P.S. In 40 years of sentience I have yet to meet a freethinking, non-parroting Jehovah's witness. return to your watchtower and stay there.

This all sounds like self-abuse -- refusing to acknowledge your bodily desires? It makes sex and sexual desire sound dirty and unclean when it is simply a natural fact of life. It is a GIFT from God, not a curse. Someone should deny themselves that kind of relief if they are uncomfortable, not to mention that it is unhealthy not to!

That's not what those verses mean... you have no idea how to interpret scripture... you should remain silent about subjects you don't know about... you only confuse people more when you try to interpret scripture with out knowledge or wisdom...

Masturbation is a matter of personal preference and conviction... it is neither condemned nor approved in scripture...

Let me get this straight, you want people to learn about sexual health by sending them to a website run by the most repressed and sexually disturbed zealots in north america ?!?
That's like sending people who are looking to quit drinking, to the Seagram's website.

I really don't know what I am doing, it just feels good and it's not hurting anyone else. I still want to do it all the time, so masturbation isn't hurting that area.
