Here's your chance to ask...what is it about about Jehovah's witnesses that you get a kick out of bashing us?

Yes, we can drink alcohol. We just don't get overdrink like the rest of the world.
Yes, we can dance. Who doesn't?
No, we can't have sexual relations outside of the marital arrangement...no one should.
Yes, we believe God is going to bring an end to this wicked system of things...Read your Bible and you will see it says that.

Yes we believe God has a name, and it is not "Lord"...that is a title. How would you like it if your best friend came up to you and said "Hey boy" or "Hey female"...Everyone has a name, so does God and it is Jehovah, and he wants us to use it.

Any other questions or anyting you would like me to clarify?

We don't believe in hell. God does not punish believe in a fiery place of torment. Those who choose to not obey God will just be destroyed forever. The only one who will be tortured is Satan in the lake of sulphur.

In reply to birtdays and holidays. There were only two birthdays recorded in the bible, and at each of them someone was killed. Considering we are Jesus' followers, why would we celebrate our birthdays when he didnt? And as far as Christmas, we do not believe Jesus was born on December 25th, did he tell us that?

As far as the other holidays, we think they are pagan and there is no need to celebrate them.

I spent 15 years as a JW I have no illusions about what they are.
It is a very controlling religious cult.
The basic foundations of the church are incorrect, lets just start with the cross.
It is a historical fact that Crucifixion was carried out 3 ways.
One on a cross was the most common used by the Romans for 800 years. second was on an X if you were particular bad and before the victim died the ropes holding tension on the X were cut ripping the convict into pieces and third was reserved for heretics where they were nailed upside down but still to a cross or an X.
This is a FACT clearly defined and documented all over Europe and north Africa and even adopted by other cultures because of it's cruelty.
This is just one tiny falsehood constantly hammered on by the JW's I know I said it thousands of times.
Find out what they are really about from other Ex members including circuit, district and Zone overseers.
They are opposed to women's rights and will not punish abusive husbands but will put abused wife's on reproof or dis-fellowship them for not being obedient.
Ask the battered women who got out if it's true.
ask the abused children.
Learn the real truth about the church

I can see by this site that many people think we are lied to by our religion and deceived, you are much mistaken as always. If you read your Bible carefully, you will see that all the major religions developed during the time of the apostasy which was foretold by the apostles. That means your religions came about during the times of the falling away from the truth, in the book of Daniel you would read that in the last days(which we are now in) that the truth would be re-established. The major churches and their clonies that developed during the reformation(sects which Jesus warned about) teach dogmatic and man made doctorines that have nothing to do with truth but spread the lies that are utterances of demons as the Bible states. You really should carefully read your Bible for better understanding. Jehovah's Witnesses are a world recognized religion of the true Christian faith and the only ones doing the will of God as seen by their fruits and their love for one another and their neighbors. If you look up cult in a dictionary you will see that Jehovah's Witnesses do not fit the description. Cults are closed door and follow after a human being, Jehovah's Witnesses follow the Son of God, Jesus Christ and our doors are open to the public, we have nothing to hide, Jehovah's Witnesses are praised the world over for their fine conduct and being model citizens. We are hated and people will make up every sort of lie about us because Jesus said, if they persecuted me, they will persecute you also, we may not like it, but we know it going to happen.

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

I'm just wondering why the world didn't end in the 1970s like the JWs said it would. Seems like they spend a lot of time telling people they know the truth and then get things wrong. How strange.

Also, how come none of you have ever shown up at my door? Everyone I know gets harassed by you regularly? Am I not worthy? I would actually let you in and try and convert you to anarchism.

Can you clear up these "misconceptions"? http://blueletterbible.org/study/cults/exposejw/chap1.html

Take an hour or so and go through this site; click on each and every document link to view actual JW publications proving it's a cult you should flee from.

I'm not posting this to hurt or insult you. I don't think there's anything wrong with being mislead; Jesus told us many false prophets would come in the end times.

I don't bash you at all, but I am curious - someone once told me that you don't celebrate birthdays, or at least not the whole "lets have a huge huge party" birthday, and that you're not big on holidays either? Is this true or were they just misinformed?

I feel ya. I grew up Mormon and people would ask me how my "moms" were, and endless questions about why I drank Pepsi (ugh)...

If you're going to attack a religion, ignorance is the worst way to get it done. Keep up the fight. While I may not agree with your religion I can't argue with genuinely nice people trying to live their lives with high standards and morals.

Jehovah's followers strive to maintain the Bible's high moral and spiritual standards. The Bible tells us that because you do not enjoy the same low sink of debauchery they will hate you.
