One of my co-workers I just don't like. But I don't know if it would be very nice of me to flat out tell him.

Since I am in your situation, I would just ingore them. I have a lady at work who really hates me (I must remind her of her son that was killed. I am his age). I really don't like her either. Any who, unless this co-worker is inhibiting your ability to preform your job, ingore him. If he gets in the way of your work, inform a "higher up" of the situation.

If your co-worker wants to talk to you, either tell him you are busy, or just listen (not really) with a few "um-hums."

By telling your co-worker that you don't like him, you are setting yourself up to create a hostile work place. No one wants that.

Hope this helps!

Just be polite. If you must work with them on a project or such, try to keep it quick. Do they do something you don't like? Do they try and strike up a conversation. Keep it quick and to the point. If they ask you something out of business, then politely tell them you don't like them. Otherwise, just back off and don't say anything. If they know you don't like them, office work will be sooo much more uncomfortable and harder.

Why do you need to tell him??? The polite thing to do is ignore him and stay away from him.

Tell someone you don't like them, and you are the bad guy - always.

It wouldn't be prudent because you never know if that person will become your supervisor one day. Just focus on your work and try to ignore the person.
