Depends upon the ticket. You might be able to change the return date for a modest charge if it's a non-refundable ticket. If it's a full-fare refundable ticket you should be able to reschedule the return at no charge or get a refund, your choice.

I'll let you in on a dirty little secret in the airline industry. Return fares are often cheaper than single jounyeys! This is especially true with deeply discounted fares, the so-called "apex" fares.

I've lost count of the number of times that I needed a single and bought a return ticket and just tossed the return portion since it was less than half the price of a single! Last summer, I needed a single from Zagreb, Croatia to Milan, Italy. The single fare was just shy of 800€, whilst the return fare was 350€! I bought the return ticket and tossed the return half when I arrived in Milan.

I believe most airlines will let you extend your ticket as long as you do this prior to the date on the ticket. I know this only because of being in the Military I have had to change many a ticket and they are usually helpful mind you this will differ from airline to airline. But most have no problem of changing the return date for you. But make sure you do this before the date on the ticket so they can sell the seat again.

Lol, nope you can sell them to an agency that resells tickets though. Airline companies just like makeing as much money possible they don't care if you don't use the ticket afterwards because you paid so much for it.

Go to the airport and there should be a desk there that resells tickets. It's your only option if you want some money for it.

You probably can, try the travel agent you booked it with then try BA. If you get no positive response hang up and ring through again.

I just rearranged my ticket the other day, the initial quote was 800 dollars then 95 then free, keep trying, they don't have a clue. Don't shout and be polite.

They may give you a credit but they NEVER give out refunds. You should be calling the airline NOT yahoo answers on this one.
