I think sometimes the parking layout is dependent on the surrounding land. If there is a highway near the airport, it will affect the layout of the parking lot. But usually the parking lot at the airport is rectangular in shape.

Check out the satellite images on google maps you should be able to see how the parking lots are laid out from the images
