Most states have it on their websites but you often need to know their docket number to even look anything up on a criminal.
If it is traffic related, call motor vehicles.
You can call the local corrections dept too but I wouldn't tell them too much if you are looking to not get arrested.

First you should clarify what is the exact reason for arrest warrant?
Minor cases of - forgery, cheating, petty thefts like wise come under Penal code under section (as per your country's law)
Middle cases - Robbery, hurting a person intentionally but unattended, threatening a person over telephone messages or
e-mail, Fax messages, attempt to insult public servant while on duty like wise are a degree more than the above
Severecases: Murder, Kidnapping, extraction, currency counterfeting & governemnt bonds, Internet crimes
Very severe Crimes: Consipiracy, illegal immigration assistance to those who have criminal records, consipiracy and attempt to
murder foreign dignitories & diplomats, Exchange of secret & confidential documents with foreign agents, likewise have seperate state.
Accordingly the warraant will be issued and arrested and there will be bailable class. This is for First two cases
For the next two the arrest can be made at any time and any where for the national interest and no bail is available till the eniquiry ends - may take months for the convict to see the face of the birds.

Go to the police station and ask about bench warrants out. They'll be able to tell you if there's a warrant out for a person.

um, i dont know where these people are from, but at MY police department, we don't just tell random people about someone else's warrants. we only tell the PERSON if it is their warrant, and that's only in person, not over the phone. people are so weird. If you did something or your friend or whoever you are talking about did something that they *possibly* could have a warrant for, then they probably do.

you call your sherrif's office. They will tell you one of two things:
1. That they will not look up a warrant because if they find it they have to go out and arrest that person.
2. They will look it up.

Go to your local agency and have them check. Lots of agencies are able to run a check from the web.

You can check at your county or city courthouse. It will probably cost 10 dollars.
