When you tune a "AM" radio to the far left or far right on the dial, the radio starts to get into another frequency band. Most likely what you are hearing is indeed "morse code". There are Ham Radio bands allocated below and above the AM frequency for communications. Sometimes you will also hear some "clicking" noises associated with atmospheric conditions on either side of the AM dial.

Marker beacons for aircraft...
Aircraft can have automatic direction finders that figure out the direction to whichever beacon they are interested in. It's the Non-directional beacons http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-directional_beacon that are in that frequency range.

Ham radio uses Morse Code, but not in that frequency range.
See http://www.arrl.org and search the band charts, you'll note that the AM band is not close enough for that to be what you are hearing.

Hahah, sure. My well known music with morse code ought to ought to be Dream Theater's "in the call Of God," in which Mike Portnoy encodes "eat my *** and balls." i love that guy. i trust the hidden music "eyeore" with suggestions from Slipknot (no thumbs down, please, i'm mearly retaining a reality) has a backwards recording of the band scoffing at a porno movie of a guy crapping on and doing a lady. i imagine there's a Slayer music the position there's a backwards chant of "come connect us" or something on the initiating. except stupid fake backwards messages, floyds Empty areas is all i will imagine of.
