Improving your relationship with your inlaws yes, but flirting with him no, he might just think you are being nice. Its your fiance father, have some respect.

You think it's FUN. If you enjoy the idea of being the mistress or step mother of your fiance's father.
If you find there is "No problem" of you facing your fiance after flirting. Breaking their father and son relationship does not bother you a bit.
Then you are definitely doing the right thing. Make sure you be able to laugh about it. No more comments.

Have you ever heard of "boundaries"?. Well, you are "out of bounds". There are enough men on this planet that you don't have to "flirt" with a family member....current or future. It is not right? What if he started (first) flirting with you? You would be calling him a "dog" and advising the person not to marry him. Find your own man, or person to flirt with. People have enough problems with relationships as it is, without needing to deal with someone in the "family" trying to steal their man! GET A GRIP, it's not cute...its TRASHY@!

Of course it is wrong to be flirting with your FUTURE FATHER-IN-LAW.
What are you saying to your future husband by doing that?
You are telling him through your actions that you don't respect him enough o refrain from flirting with his father. You are telling him so much about yourself that is bad -- I just hope he can see that before he marries your sorry behind.
If you think you are improving your relationship with your in-laws, that should alos say something to you about those people. Don't marry into this dysfunctionality. To do so is being disrespectful to yourself.

It really depends on how well you read people. If you think he
is getting the idea that you might find sex with him acceptable,
yes, this is a bad thing to do.
People flirt.
80 year olds flirt with 20 year olds. I've seen heterosexual
women flirt with other heterosexual women.
Intent and result is the all important thing here.
The idea of you flirting with him is much less scary than the
idea that you find him very sexy.
That you WANT to flirt with him should make you question your
motives.

just be careful that you don't cross a line (or more likely, he doesn't). Flirting is fun, but can cause misunderstandings and jealousy. What are your motives? Figure that out and you'll know where to build your boundries- where to draw them. Does this upset your future husband? Your mohter-in-law (very important! She can make or break your relationship with your soon-to-be- life partner!)
If i were you, i'd slow my roll and make sure everyone is clear about who belongs to who....are you clear about that?
