it shouldn't matter to you really whether he can swim or not? But then again if you only want him for his looks anyway, then you are just being shallow. Even if you swim very well or are part of a swim team, that doesn't mean you can't have a relationship with someone that can't. What if you grow up and become a doctor, and your husband is a professional chef? Will he divorce you because you can't cook like he does? It's a stupid question really; if you can't figure these things out on your own then god help you

Well, its seems to me that his ability (or inability) to swim
is only important if you're going near water.

Did he ask you for a swimming lesson?

If you think he's cute, go out with him!

If you really like him, keep him away from water until he
can swim for himself or you feel like saving him!

no he should know how to swim if he is serious about dating. what would your friends think if they ever found out? how would you raise the kids; swimmers or non-swimmers. that sort of thing might not be as big a deal as it was in the 50s but it's still around.

I would go on a date with him. why does not being able to swim have anything to do with going out with him? if you do go out just make sure you don't go swimming.

that would be really shallow if you turned him down. Thats just mean dont do that. Like him for him not his swimming abilities. Unless you have a moat around your house..then turn him down.

Should that even matter? If you like him, give him a chance.
Hey, he can always take swimming lessons....

Teach him to swim. This will let you become more closer to him and maybe save his life one day.
