PhD student moving to Palo Alto. I have a few friends that want to have fun, but not necessarily visit places or sites (like museums). We rather not spend much $, but if we have to, we can. I do have a car.

You can go to clubs. Get in their guest list to get in for free or just pay $5 to get in. You can join their VIP list when you get there and get special event invites and free admission. You can also subscribe for their newsletter just sign up with your email.

I hope this helps. email me and let me know when you want to go clubbin and which club and how many people are going. I'll try to put you on a guest list. I have contacts in some club.

There's also Jillian's which is a restaurant, bar and you can play billiards which I was really surprised that they charge cheap for playing billiards.

I like to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge and go to the beaches around the Golden Gate national recreation area, and hike around Lands End. Ocean Beach is nice to walk on. Drives to Twin Peaks and Mt. Sutro are scenic. You can hike on Mt. Tamalpais, and drive the coast up to Stinson Beach, that is totally beautiful. All free.
