You can now get free CME from CAP if your laboratory subscribes to any CAP samples. You need to know what the lab's CAP ID number is (it is on the package and on the paperwork accompanying the survey) and apply for a password. After that you are good to go. ASCP website may also have some free CME that you can get. Ortho wire has CME but the free stuff is too simplistic and the more advanced programs charge you for the service. Whoever that was who answered "no education is free except elementary and high school" obviously doesn't know what CME is. For their benefit, CME is Continuing Medical Education. These are units required to maintain an existing license to practice.

Thus said, my friend, run a search for "online CME for medical technologist" and you will find what you're looking for. I, too, do my CME's online and I'm fortunate in that my hospital offers an online program free of charge. Check out these sites and see what they have to offer.
