its a misinformed old wive's tale.....
They SAY it for good reason however. IT CAN if the child lifts improperly (injury at this age WILL cause stunted growth plates) however, if Supervised and shown PROPER technique and positioning, It will not stunt growth.

whats up, sure lifting weights at an early age stunts boom as your increasing the quantity of weight and rigidity on your decrease body bones. proper age for exercising recurring is around the age of 17-18 as you've virtually grown on your finished skill.

Noe if by growth you mean height growth then certainly not. i started lifting weight at the age 13+ and am 6+ ft tall.

Yes, they should at least wait until 15 or 16 and even then I would do it only casually until 18 or so.

i have always been told that it can.. i still wouldn't imagine that it is good.. you need to let your muscles develop naturally before you try to make them big and ripped..
