Once the claim is settled, you can cancel the insurance. Most insurance policies provide for 30 days to revover the vehicle and repair it, if necessary. After that, you're free to cancel.

Coverage on a vehicle is good until the day it is stolen. Just to keep down paperwork (in case it is FOUND) keep the policy in force until settlement is complete.

I should think once it is stolen your insurance would take care of it. Call your agent
