It all dependds on what happened to cause these things. Did something traumatic happen like get raped, seen a crime against someone else such as a murder etc.

Sounds like some sort of traumatic thing happened and this can cause you to get depression and once you get depression there is no way to totally escape it. I know this because I suffer from it and in my case I got it from hereditary, trauma from abuse(emotional, mental, financial,), medical change in body from surgry. I have been in therapy for about 5 yrs now and also take meds when I can afford to . I also use the internet and researching my family genealogy and helping others locate lost friends and relatives which I do for free.

I also spend a lot of time with my kids they can really keep me busy especially my 9 yr girl, she has adhd and ocd

Find something that gives you a more positive outlook on yourself and brings up your self esteem, maybe take a class on somethiong that really intersts you, go for walks, find someone to hang out with when these things bother you most, go on the internet and play games and meet other people, read a book what ever you feel might help.

Even get a dog or cat and train it and walk it and play with it it does help too.

If something bad happened to you, it's possible that you could have PTSD from it, hard to tell, as you didn't give many details. If the thoughts just came out of nowhere, perhaps you have OCD...if it doesn't get better, or if they become suicidal thoughts, you should see a doctor immidiately.
