When languages were first being written, they weren't being written in ink. Arabic was first being carved in stone, where it really doesn't matter whether you're writing from right to left or left to right. By random chance it simply happened that they started writing right to left.
And now that we use ink, Arabic is horrendously inconvenient for us right-handers. I definitely sympathise with how annoying daily life must be for you lefties.
But don't take up Islam and Arabic just because it's more fair. Take up Arabic, sure, languages are fun—but taking up any sort of religion is never a good idea.

Maybe, but in Arabic culture (and others in Asia) it is dirty to eat with the left hand because that is the hand you use in the restroom.
Also, there are several stories in the Bible that picture left-handed warriors as heroes. The Benjamites, for example, were overwhelmingly left-handed and good with stone-slinging. Ehud was left-handed as well and killed a enemy king (Judges 3:15-30).

There is no restriction in Islam which hinder left handed person to follow the religion. Actually my 8 year old niece is left handed and my younger brother is left handed. The stories which become the part of religious beliefs are not correct.

Well, if you *want* to learn arabic, go right ahead. But don't do it just because you're left handed. After all, you'll still have english for the rest of your life.

no, no written language was invented by or specifically for lefthanders. I am a left hander and I have no difficulty with my own language.

well there are arabs who write arabic but are christians and jews and/or practice other religions. As far as writing is concerned, there must be majority of arabs who are right handed. I am up for another stupid question.

i find it hard to believe their is any stigma attached to being left handed in this day and age
in the past it was a different story
the word sinister evolved from sinistral or left handed
i am ambidextrous so i sin both ways
