An example might be the reference to saints, the fact Catholic schools teach evolution, stautes that we aren't suppose to use (according to some) etc

The Catholic's method of worship comes from the bible.
The whole focus of the Mass is on Christ's invitation & promise to be in communion with Him. In essence it obeys His command (at the Last Supper) to his apostles : "Then, taking bread & giving thanks, he broke it & gave it to them saying, 'This is my body to be given for you. Do this as a remembrance of Me" Luke 22:19-20

"Through holy men of the Old Testament, God, Himself revealed the forms, rites, & ceremonies of divine worship, & these were all combined & summed up in the Last Supper." * In his book, Rev. James L. Meagher explains how the Passover service of the Last Supper was the foundation of the Liturgies of the Mass & shows how the ceremonies seen today in the Mass came down from the Hebrew rites of God established through Moses & the great men of the Old Testament.

I was raised Catholic and went to a private
Catholic school for 9 years . I am no longer Catholic or religious . I am Agnostic, not to be evil but the understanding of the sciences leads to common sense and away from the "It has to be from a higher being because we don't understand " reasoning. That said while I was involved in the Catholic religion I was turned off by it being more about making money than it was about religion. There was also racism to keep the blacks out to keep the whites happy and the money coming in. This was the sixties and seventies ,now they will take anyone's money. Vatican city and the Pope is so anti Bible and hypocritical ,but the Catholics need the format to keep the money coming in

Interesting question. I will keep my eye on this to see the responses.

Here's my thoughts at the moment.

While I don't what to appear relativistic - especially on a subject as great as religion - I do think that it depends on one's perspective. I say this as a former nondenominational Christian who had a Catholic girlfriend for over three years. While we didn't debate issues of the religion, her mother and I often did.

There are many who say that Catholics are not "Christian" because of some of their beliefs and practices. I've not agreed with this, since Christianity is a broad umbrella that encompasses, from my understanding, three large groups: Catholicism, Orthodoxy, and Protestanism (and then there's all the non-denoms).

And I've asked a question similiar to this - of the thirty-three thousand or so different denominations, which one is "right"? Or even which group is right? To that I've been told things like "God will guide you." Well, given the fragmentation (for lack of a better word) of the faith, who has He guided and who hasn't He?

Is it an either/or, right/wrong question? Hhmmmmm.....

What specifically are you referring to?

Edit:
I applaud Catholic schools for teaching evolution. Asking a saint to intercede with God on your behalf is essentially the same as asking a friend to pray for you. It's okay to build statues as long as you don't worship them.

The Bible is the word of God Revelation 22: 18,19. The Catholic church put themselves above the word of God.

Man cannot find truth and understanding of spiritual things in and of himself that is why we are guided by the words of God the Bible.

There are no "right" or "wrong" ways to worship. Very few of the practices of any Christian church are biblically based; most were decided by committees of bishops (like the Council of Nicene, or Vatican II), *hundreds* of years after Jesus is said to have lived and died.

They are right because they realize that to base everything on the Bible is wrong.

as long as someone's form of worship focuses them on God and keeps God central, then I'm not one to say it is right or wrong. But that's a big "if."
