The first answer I read was an affirmation of the bible so I will counter:
Read the King James Version Bible
2ND Chronicles
Chapter 22
Verses 9, 10 & 11
Now tell me all about the basic tenets of christianity and Islam. The Prodestant religion believe in the entire King James version but only preach certain passages, avoiding all the contridictions as best they can.
The Catholics changed the bible to reflect their traditions thus avoiding the embarassment of the contridictions. Which is also why they call it a sin to read any other bible. They had to in order to protect themselves from the truth.

I find it funny that you make fun of other religions and ost specificly the Bible.
The Bible has been accurate up to this point, with prophesies. Many Bbile stories have been found true due to archeology. Many have felt the power of God.
But what I find the funniest is that you make fun of Christians for believing in God, his son Jesus( whom did exist and still does), and the stories of the bible, yet you dont find it stupid to believe in a "spirit world".
So even though evolution says we are all biological and chemical(meaning a soul has nothing to do with your being), and you believe in evolution, but then also believe in a second world in which your soul( which evolution denies) will float around in another demension for no purpose or reason.( sounds like a very interesting and thrilling afterlife theory if you ask me)( yay lets float around for hours without a purpose for all of eternety)
God Bless:)+=
( p.s. maybe before you go after others faith, you should look at your own and its faults)

You need to take a closer look at evolution yourself.. Given the geographical time line purported by theorist...The amount of mutation needed to establish the awesome diversity of life on this planet, couldn't have reached the point we are at now.
In a singular characteristic, ten to the 2067 power's worth of information is require per breeding individual, a pair would double this, and go to the same number in the offspring.. Mutations occur less than.0006 percent of the time and is not always beneficial.
It is mathematical possible for two individuals in at the begginng of a species to possess all the DNA info. to produce the approx, 10 different specie variations we currently recognize in the human race. through regional selection, and historical cross match numerous "change within kind". Can be observed.
I would suggest not taking some biased college professor's
word for it.. And actually search the truth out for yourself..
You might be surprised what you find out.

Bible- I believe in this book, but I think that a lot of churches today really mess it up for the rest of us.
Religion- I think a lot of religion is a form of scam. That is, i think many churches (or televangelists, etc.) teach what they feel they need to teach in order to either maintain high attendence, big donations, or to weild some form of power over their flock.
One man/one woman bit- did you know that scientists think there IS one woman in all of our bloodlines? She is even named 'Eve', after the Bible story. It is an interesting thing to read about! (It does NOT prove the biblical story, but it is still interesting!
I find it weird that you seem to think that scince is king (your comments about evolution over the Bible), and then take to time to mention that you believe in the 'spirit world'- for which there is FAR less proof than there is for the veracity of much of the Bible.
It seems oddly 'pot calling the kettle black' that you lambast others for belieign in something with no evidence, but yourself believes in something that even fewer people believe in, and for which there is also no evidence.
Now, I find it is important to study what the Bible says about itself. For the most part, the books of the Laws and the Prophets seem to be the ones that the Bible itself has the most respct for and most claims of inspiration and reliablity are made for these. There seems to be less respect for the books of history, poetry, and geneologies.
If the books of history are not inspired and were written by humans, then there is no reason that Genesis (and some other books) should be taken literally and as is. These seem to be teaching stories showing us one lesson or another- at least in much of Genesis.
And these are the stories most people find most troubling- creation in 6 days, Adam and Eve, Noah, etc.
Once you sift out what are pretty obviously teaching stories from what seem to be more eye-witness accounts, you shift from fables to things that seem to relate to real-world places and times- things we can verify to some degree.
So, to me, the answer is not trashing the Bible- that is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. We need to find the stuff in the Bible that is real and applicable, and deal with that.

And organized religion is all about money, money and more money. Jesus said, "it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to know the kingdom of God" and preached poverty. So why do all these hot-shot preachers in their multi-million dollar churches, hop in their Lexus (that's the poor ones, the others drive BMWs) and go to their million-dollar homes? According to Jesus Christ, they're hell-bound - assuming there is such a place. They're all hypocrites!! Religion is a joke.

You can really expect people who have picked a position based on faith to abandon it using reason. You have to use emotional appeals. Once you crack the surface with emotional appeals, then they may listen to reason.

please provide some of this "more proof" that you have. please don't tell us how radiated fruit flies remain mutated fruit flies, or how bacteria mututes to become mutated bacteria. please give proof of species evolving into different species, or something coming from nothing.
if the first man and women had the complete DNA set, wouldn't it be reasonable that we all have some similarities.
