If the water is safe enough for you, it is safe enough for your dog.
And visa-versa.

We too have softened water. As a health care professional with 2 dogs we drink, and our dogs drink, distilled water. We are concerned about the amount of sodium they may get from the softened water. We may be overly protective but our pets are very important to us as (we) I am certain yours are to you as well.

Soft water is safe for dogs to drink. Dogs don't process salt the way humans do, and it doesn't effect them the way it does with humans. We give our dogs soft water with no ill side effects. Good luck.

On a side note, how soft or hard water is has absolutely nothing to do with rust.
Rust is formed by the corrosion of iron due to oxidization. Iron will rust regardless of how hard or solf your water is.

we have softened water at my house too, most of the time we give my dog bottled water because we tried just regular sink water and it made her sick.
your dog may be different, try it and if your dog starts acting a little funny just switch it.

Yes it is safe to give your dogs the soft water.
Some people will use distilledas they do not want all the sodium in the soft water.
My parents have it and they drink distilled water but the dogs get the soft stuff and they are fine.
i think the soft stuff has a funny taste to it and I do not like the sodium in it.

If there is no rust in the water, then it is safe. I'm assuming, of course, that it is potable water and the rest of the house is drinking it too.

In barren region worldwide places, extraordinarily Israel and Saudi Arabia, they're doing a great variety of analyze on low-priced the right thank you to desalinate sea water. at recent this is quite capability in intensity. there's a water disaster -- this is a sparkling sparkling water disaster in some areas of the worldwide. there is plenty water in the worldwide -- in basic terms no longer sufficient sparkling, sparkling water in the places we want it.

As long as your dog doesn't have a medical condition where you have to carefully control his sodium intake, softened water shouldn't be a problem.
